New Song Christian Counseling and Missionary Care was birthed out of Dr. Beverly Richardson’s own personal journey and from three years of missionary service in Kazakhstan.  As a result, she has a burning desire to see the captives set free from life-long bondages.

Dr. Richardson has a passion to help people be more effective in spreading the Gospel.  It is her belief that in order to do this, one must become spiritually and emotionally healthy.  With that purpose in mind, New Song Christian Counseling and Missionary Care provides counseling support and missionary care to equip the saints so they can fulfill their calling to the fullest.   It is our goal to come alongside individuals so they can be cared for spiritually and emotionally and thus be better equipped.

New Song Missionary Care came out of her own need for “care” while on the mission field in Kazakhstan.  After a difficult re-entry in 1997 and a season of healing through various resources, the Lord led her into the ministry of “Member Care” while on a mission trip to Russia in 2003.  She heard numerous stories from the team members about various types of traumatic events in their lives. This reminded her of her own story and her need for a counselor when she was a missionary in Kazakhstan, but not having one.  God clearly called her to become better equipped to serve others in the areas that she and her family had so desperately needed.

Upon returning from that trip to Russia, Dr. Richardson began to get training in the area of what is called “Member Care,” or missionary care.  It is her belief that if the missionary is emotionally healthy, then the spreading of the Gospel will be more effective.

It is her desire as a Christian Counselor to see Jesus “bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners; to comfort all that mourn, provide for those who grieve, to bestow upon them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair so that they can be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His glory.” Isaiah 61:1-3

Dr. Richardson worked at The Well Member Care Center in Chiang Mai, Thailand for three years.  While working at The Well, Dr. Richardson provided services including debriefing, counseling, spiritual direction, seminars and training.

Dr. Richardson also worked with Heartstream Resources with their residential programs for missionaries in the US, France and Thailand.  These programs included times of worship, devotions, counseling, teachings on stress, burnout, and conflict resolution as the missionaries lived in a community setting.

Because she is dedicated to the Lord, she is also dedicated to this call He has on her life.  It is Dr. Richardson’s desire to see hurting missionaries be set free in order to serve the Lord better.

Dr. Richardson is now living in the Atlanta, GA area.
